Infection Control: A Core Requirement for Safe Workplaces
Infection prevention and control is a fundamental responsibility in healthcare, hospitality, and many public-facing environments. Effective infection control protects people, reduces disruption, and helps organisations meet their legal and professional obligations.
This Infection Control course begins by defining infection prevention and control and explaining the impact of good and poor practice. It then explores the UK legislation that applies to infection control, the different types of microorganisms, how bacteria are transmitted, and the chain of infection. These essential topics help learners understand not only what actions to take, but why they matter.
The course is suitable for learners working in healthcare, hospitality, and similar settings where hygiene and infection prevention are critical. It is completed online, takes approximately 60 minutes, and allows learners to study at their own pace. On completion, a downloadable certificate is provided for records and compliance purposes.
This course is approved by CPD and IIRSM, awarding 2 CPD units.
